Welcome to Lokes List!
Lokes List was founded around the release of World of Warcraft back in 2004 as a pure Danish raiding guild and continued to exist within the game until 2009. We have since then been active in various different MMOs but nothing ever quite stuck as WoW did. We are now focusing on Wildstar and have been playing the game since early beta phases. The site is written in English for visitor convenience even though the official and used language within Lokes List is Danish.
Avatus down! After a tough reset with a Life/Logic pair needing to be re-downed before gaining access to Avatus, we were unsure as to whether or not we would get enough progress time on Avatus to actually get him this reset, thankfully we rocked!
The life/logic elemental pair, post F2P-patch, was the last pair we needed to down, and with a lot of guilds having a hard time with the pair, the pressure was on to get it downed and onward with the Avatus progress. Tuesdays raid on the 17th of November went okay, and we only had two pair’s left for Thursday. On Thursday 19th we quickly got (Water/Fire) down and after 16 wipes, Life/Logic was downed as well. Good job guys!
Avatus, called Avalon in Lokes List for some reason, was now the only obstacle left in Datascape, and we had two hours left on Thursday to take him out. On our 9th and last pull on the evening at 23:23, we managed to get him into the last phase for the first time ever and downed him. Getting Avatus was a huge relief; Not that the Avatus fight itself was such a hard fight when compared to the rest of the instance, but completing Datascape has for many of us been the goal since returning to WildStar. Progressing in Datascape has been quite a journey for a lot of us, with many iterations of it; starting with the 40man version then the 20man vanilla version and finally the F2P 20man version, and numerous trialists and weird vanishers from the roster among the way, while the core stayed strong.
For everyone who’s been on for the ride through Datascape, good job! A special thanks goes to those who’ve been grinding at this game almost since release with Lokes List – We have quite a few on our Avatus kill who were also present on our first X-89 kill in Genetic Archives, and even more who were on the Ohmna kill. Playing and winning the game with the same good people is the reason we do this, thank you guys! For all those who have joined us during the course of Datascape, thank you, without you we would not have been able to complete this part of the game!
What next? Well, we still need to farm Avatus a bit for them “pinkies”, gear, fun and eventually; we’ll start looking at Augmenters hardmode (boss-in-a-box). HOPEFULLY Carbine get’s their **** together and will release the Red Moon Terror raid at some point!
With the Free 2 Play launch of WildStar coming up, here is a hot-off-the-press update on Lokes List raiding and our recruitment status, for returning and new players.
Since the beginning of September Lokes List has been (8/9) bosses in DataScape, but we prefer to call it 10/15. Datascape is the 2nd tier of raiding in the current raid content of WildStar, and at the end of each of the three wings in DataScape, there is an “elemental pair” encounter. Each of the three pairs can spawn in three possible elemental combinations. We cleared the last of the three wings on September 3rd, killing the Water/Air combination, which officially is called 8/9 in the WildStar raiding community, as this kill gives access to the last boss in DataScape, Avatus. Spellslinger healing and Stalker DPS POV of the Water/Air kill below.
However, to get access to Avatus on a regular basis, you need to be able to kill (more or less) all possible elemental pair combinations, and some are a lot harder than others. Lokes List has not killed all elemental pair combos that spawn randomly, so there’s still plenty of action to take part in. So when counting each elemental pair combination as a boss (which it is), Lokes List is “only” 10/15. Should Avatus go down, there’s also an even harder boss-in-a-box waiting to progress on outside of DataScape, so we’re not out of content to do any time soon.
Which leads us to the Lokes List raiding status. With the incoming Free 2 Play launch tomorrow September 29th, Lokes List will be interested in recruiting players that show the right mindset and skill to be part of our raiding community. Part of that mindset is about maximizing what we achieve with our fairly low raiding time, 9 hours a week based on 2 raid nights a week. That means that you come prepared, you prioritize the raid days over other activities and you can stay focused in that time while still having fun.
As many joiners might not have experience playing WildStar, we’ll focus on your ability to learn quickly and master your class – gear is easy to come by, skill is not. Raids are Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 19.30-23.30 (Danish time, GMT+2). All classes are welcome but we are lowest on Spellslingers, Engineers and Espers as it is right now. If you’re unsure if WildStar is for you, join as a casual, get some sweet guild levelling up perks and be part of the community – as long as you’re 18+. You can always contact/whisper “Lumen Slist”, “Bell Ante”, “Lady Gaga” or “Phrozen Wastes” for a chat about joining the guild or ask anyone in Lokes List about us, and we’ll get back to you.
Summer is over (more or less) and it’s time for a well overdue update on the situation that is, us killing stuff in WildStar. We managed to get through the summer with a only a few cancelled raids and even managed to get some progress squeezed in.
On the 18th of June we got our first Gloomclaw kill which is one of the more notorious encounters in DS with quite a few of mechanics to master and many individually dependent assignments. The encounter is nor more or less on farm by now and or sights have been set on the following Elemental Pair Encounters. A video of a recent kill can seen in the below from a healer spellslinger POV.
Last night on the 25th of August we defeated the Life/Logic pair which to be honest didn’t prove to be such an obstacle. We have had a couple of hours on the encounter on an earlier reset which combined with a couple more on the 25th turned out to be enough. We are very much looking forward for some of the other Pairs and of course we are hoping to stand before the feared Avatus soon. Below are two videos from the kill.
